MES Executive Positions

President

Preside as chair and open each meeting by calling the members to order; prepare the agenda; open to discussion and put to vote all motions and announce the result of all vote; organize Metchosin Day committee and delegate responsibilities to run grandstand events, performances and concession; attend District Meetings if required. Grant applications (with other executive).  


Vice President

In the absence of the President, the Vice President will carry out all duties of the President in the President’s absence or anything assigned by the President. Grant applications (with other executive).


Secretary

Prepare the correspondence and communicate with members; issue notices of meetings; keep minutes of all meetings; have custody of all records and documents except those required to be kept by the Treasurer; and have custody of the common seal of the society.


Treasurer

Keep the financial records, including books of account, necessary to comply with the Society Act; and render financial statements to the directors, members and others when required.  Grant applications (with other executive).


Director @ Large

Supports executive and committee members when required.


MES Committee Positions

Membership Co-ordinator

Keep a register of the members and shall enter therein the names of every person admitted as a member of the Club together with:  

  • the phone number, email address and/or mailing address of every person admitted as a Club member;
  • confirmation of Insurance and HCBC membership
  • date on which any member ceased to be a member. 


Trail Co-ordinator

Report on trail concerns and provide status updates at general meetings; organize work parties as required, communicate with PTASC.

Sooke Saddle Club Liaison

Attend regular MES meetings; Advise MES membership coordinator of total SSC membership; forward MES minutes onto SSC member; coordinate SSC shows and ensure waiver forms are sent to Membership Coordinator.

Ring Bookings

Receive requests for ring bookings and update calendar as required.

Ring Maintenance

Be familiar with sprinkler systems and watering equipment and able to irrigate ring as needed (with help from others); harrow ring as required.

Activities Co-ordinator

Coordinate MES activities, trail rides, shows, clinics, play dates.

Facebook/Website/Metchosin Muse

Update Facebook/Instagram and the MES website as required; prepare any advertisements necessary for the Metchosin Muse.
