We are always looking for participation and fresh ideas from our vibrant equestrian community. If you value our community riding ring and our beautiful trail system, please come out and support MES.
The Metchosin Riding Ring was funded largely by the Metchosin Lions Club. Planning commenced in 1987 and construction was complete in time for the Grand Opening at the Metchosin Day Celebration in 1991. The ring was constructed using countless donations of labour, equipment, material and expertise from many people in the community. It has been used for many years by Metchosin Pony Club for lessons and clinics and is maintained by members of Metchosin Equestrian Society. The ring was resurfaced in the fall of 2014 with improved footing to provide all-weather usage and then was amended with additional sand in the spring of 2019 to improve the footing.
We would like to remember and celebrate the generosity of all the community efforts for the original construction as well as acknowledge the continued support for upkeep and maintenance.
